What is USCIS Fee Calculator?

The USCIS Fee Calculator helps immigrants and their families estimate the cost of filing immigration forms with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. USCIS charges filing fees for most benefit requests, and many forms also require a biometrics service fee for fingerprinting and identity verification.

How to Use USCIS Fee Calculator

Select your USCIS immigration form from the dropdown menu. The calculator instantly shows the base filing fee, biometrics service fee (if applicable), and the total amount due. Review the fee waiver note to see if you may qualify for reduced or waived fees.

How USCIS Fee Calculator Works

The calculator uses the USCIS fee schedule effective April 1, 2024. When you select a form, it looks up the base filing fee and determines whether a biometrics service fee ($85) applies. The total displayed is the sum of both fees. Note that fees are subject to change; always verify the current fee on the official USCIS website (uscis.gov) before submitting payment.

Common Use Cases

  • Budgeting for green card (I-485) or citizenship (N-400) applications
  • Planning the total cost of family-based immigration petitions
  • Estimating fees for work authorization (I-765) or travel document (I-131) applications
  • Comparing costs across multiple immigration filings needed for a single case
  • Checking whether DACA renewal (I-821D) has a filing fee

Yes. Certain applicants may qualify for a fee waiver by filing Form I-912. Not all forms are eligible for fee waivers.

How do I pay USCIS filing fees?

USCIS accepts payment by check, money order, or credit/debit card (Form G-1450) for paper filings. Online filings through myUSCIS can be paid by credit/debit card or bank transfer. Make checks payable to "U.S. Department of Homeland Security." Do not send cash.
